How to classify aluminum extrusion press tonnage level?

Aluminum extrusion press is named according to the extrusion force, but the extrusion force can be characterized by three measurement units: international system of units/engineering system of units/American system. MN is the international system unit "Mega Niu", T is the engineering system unit "ton", and UST is the American system unit "US ton" 1mn = 1,000,000 n = 100,000 kg = 100t, 1T=1.1UST. For example, a 12.5MN extruder is a 1250T extruder. Another example is the 880UST extruder, which is an 800T extruder.


The grading of extruder tonnage is basically increased by the ratio of 1.25, that is, the extrusion force of the extruder with a higher gear is 25% greater than that of the extruder with a lower gear. For example, the last shift of 800T is 1000T, the last shift of 1000T is 1250T, the last shift of 1250T is 1600T, the last shift of 1600T is 2000T, and the last shift of 2000T is 2500T.


Aluminum extrusion press should have the following characteristics:

(1) To have sufficient rigidity, the aluminum extrusion press has strong technological force and concentrated load, and to ensure the quality of parts and the service life of dies, the aluminum extrusion press must have sufficient rigidity.


(2) To have enough energy, the working load curve of extrusion forming is approximately rectangular, and the whole extrusion process needs a lot of energy. Aluminum extrusion presses also use flywheels to store and release energy, so aluminum extrusion presses are designed with high-energy flywheels and high-slip motors.


(3) It has good guiding accuracy. Under the working condition of heavy load, the guiding accuracy of the slider will have a great impact on the quality of the extruded parts and the service life of the die. Therefore, the aluminum profile extruder can reduce the inclination of the slider by increasing the ratio of the guiding length of the slider to the width of the slider or adopt rolling guide rails to ensure the guiding accuracy of the press.


(4) Reasonable extrusion speed According to the needs of extrusion forming, the slider should have a high speed when it is idling downward and returning, and low speed should be adopted at the beginning of extrusion, and this speed should be maintained until the end of extrusion deformation process. Generally speaking, the reasonable extrusion speed is 0.1 ~ 0.4m/s, so there is a hydraulic buffer device in the slide block of aluminum extrusion machine.


(5) Reliable overload protection device.


(6) Reliable ejection device shall be provided, and the ejection device and ejection force shall meet the needs of the extrusion process during the ejection action.


(7) There is a device for lubricating and cooling the mold. Because a large amount of heat is generated during extrusion, the aluminum profile extruder should have a forced lubrication and cooling device to ensure normal extrusion and die life.
